Tim: I’ve been a professional Quake player for a long time, so it’s just a part of my identity at this point. Now that you're at the top of the mountain, how does it feel to be a professional Quake player? So for Quake, it’s pretty serious for me, and I typically have more carefree fun when I play some other games here or there. I value my time and try to make sure the practice I’m getting is quality practice, and I also make sure I put in the time to review myself and my opponents play just like someone in the NBA or the NFL does review and studying up on their opponents. Shane: Playing games is fun and all, but for me, I take competing for myself very seriously. Have you ever experienced situations wherein you felt the world went the other direction, what were your challenges that you needed to overcome? Technically it is, but there's more to it. Everyone else is just living in it.Everyone thinks that being a professional player is all fun and games. We are very proud of our players, and we will continue our dominance in the Quake scene. GaRpY would bow out of the tournament, losing 1-2 to rapha (their third meeting at QPL events) and DaHanG 1-2. Xron, placing second overall in EU Challengers, fell to Spart1e 1-3, while GaRpY kicked off the competition against challenger PASITA in a thrilling win 3-2. Myztro also had two other players compete for the belt at QuakeCon 2021, those being GaRpY and Xron. In the Quake Pro League’s history, Myztro has placed at least in the top 4 in every event. Myztro continued its streak of placing in the top three in all Stage Finals this season, with RAISY placing 2nd in Stage 1, Vengeur placing 3rd in Stage 2, and Vengeur and RAISY placing 1st and 2nd in the Quake World Championship. Vengeur’s first-ever QuakeCon Championship win is also the first for Myztro Gaming, rounding out another successful season of Quake Pro League for Myztro. The Grand Final culminated in Vengeur winning the Quake Pro League Belt over RAISY 4-2 and cemented his place in the history books as a QuakeCon Champion. ![]() ![]() He became the highest placing Italian Quake player in QuakeCon history since his 3rd place finish in 2020 and Stermy’s 3rd place finish in 2010. Vengeur made his way to his first-ever QuakeCon Finals after defeating RAISY in the Upper Bracket Finals 3-1. RAISY’s appearance in the QuakeCon Finals is his second in his career, making him the first player to appear in the QuakeCon Finals in back-to-back years since rapha and evil did it in 20. RAISY qualified for his second consecutive QuakeCon Finals after defeating international rival rapha of Team Liquid 3-0 in the Lower Bracket Finals, sending the 2020 champion packing in 3rd place. Myztro Gaming’s Vengeur and RAISY both made the Grand Finals of the Quake World Championship at QuakeCon 2021, guaranteeing Myztro its first-ever QuakeCon Championship.
